She did say that the company recruiters come to the school. Is that a plus?

It's a plus if the companies are local outfits that aren't known outside your area. Talk to Schneider about tanker training; it's OTR but will set you up for local tanker work in a few months.

Where I'm at, central Iowa. I came out if school and went straight into a home daily job. I do intermodal to Chicago. I'm from a big city so Chicago doesn't stress me out. There were several other daily options here. Yes it sure can be true! What area are you in?

It depends on the company. But then at least you can ask the recruiter questions rather then the school try and talk you into signing up just so they get your money. How many hrs or weeks is this course?

It's a plus in that literally the only way you won't have AT LEAST a couple "pre-hires" lined up before you graduate is if you've got some serious issues with your driving record and/or criminal background check. Whether or not they're companies that you'll want to go with is another matter.

To answer your earlier post...yes...you shouldn't have a hard time lining something local up. Well...assuming you're flexible on salary and/or hours. That's the issue that I'm running into at the moment though. Assuming I was able to get by on $13-15/hr and/or I didn't mind working the graveyard shift... lining a local gig up wouldn't have been an issue.

There are probably some intermodal companies that would take a student. Most times you're home daily with those companies.

I'm in Lancaster PA now but was born and raised in NYC so I'm not too worried about big city either.

Not bad.I would ask the school recruiter how much back and driving does each student receive and whats the passing success rate. There's a guy on here unfortunately didn't pass and $4000.00 gone just like that.He only reseived 6 and a half hrs driving thru his entire course and very little backing practice.Sometimes the instructor was late starting in the morning and that went against his hrs.

Huh. The school I went to...part of the agreement was that they'll train you until you do pass. I assumed that was a standard thing for CDL schools. I passed the first go around, but it wasn't uncommon for guys to need two or more attempts with the DMV.
