I drove through this area yesterday, didn't appear that traffic was any better... It's $8 each way for trucks. With the container trucks I see in that area, I'm guessing most of them won't be spending lunch money on tolls, I don't know how most of them afford tires to begin with....
Anyone take this route? What ya think?

Oh h3ll no. What's wrong with using arsenal rd. It's not residential it's all commerical. I don't see many spending $16 On a trip in there. Some of those can haulers are in there a couple few times a day

I would guess if your coming and going to the East you could easily save that in fuel buy not going all the way over to 55?
cke and gentleroger Thank this. -
If anyone cares to do some spelunking through the original agreements - Center Point was supposed to build it as a free road open by 2016.
As to "Is it worth the $8?" - it depends if it allows a driver to make an extra turn in the day. I believe running IL 53 in saves 9 miles, but the stop lights make it a horse a piece in regards to time. If a driver is making 3 turns thru bnsf a day, and having an extra 30 minutes allows him to make a 4th then the $64 might be worth it. It's the same argument as "running 70 mph I can run more miles"/"running 60 mph I spend less on fuel".
As a company driver, you bet your sweet bupkiss I'll be taking it.
