Some years ago, I was driving and the snow started coming down like gangbusters. Wind whooping and wailing like a banshee, pushing trucks and trailers around the road like they were insects it was so bad. So I shut her down at the sohio truckstop and call up dispatch. And this guy says to me "well driver that's a hot load it's gotta go so get off yer ### and get crackin." And I said "well you can stick that hot load where the sun don't shine cause it ain't worth it to me". So about 2 hours later another driver shows up and we swap trailers and I tell him look buddy it's pretty wicked out there and he says well I don't think it's so bad I've drivin in worse conditions. And I say, well good luck and god speed driver I hope u make out ok.
Of course you know the rest of the story: that guy gets about 75 miles down the road and jackknifes the truck into a median and broke his arm to boot. And you know what the company said? Why'd you pull that load if it was so bad, we didn't tell you to do that. That man lost his job, couldn't find work for a long time. A real shame if you ask me.
