Good to know. What is or where do I find the dress code? Harold have any dress related pet peeves? Any pics/video of the facility anywhere that you know of?

I never really paid attention to the dress code. I have a pretty clean cut style. I believe the basics are mentioned on one of the pages recruitment sent you. It should also list on there what to bring with you. Make sure you bring a Motor Carrier's Road Atlas and not a normal car one. Laminated ones are nice. Bring a dry erase marker to draw your routes directly on the maps. Make a checklist of everything you need before you come - including permit, airbrakes and pre-trip test, DOT physical, SS and DL card, $400 cash, black pens, money for food, closed toe shoes, etc. For the summer months I recommend sunglasses, shorts, hat, sunscreen if you burn easy. Watch as many Youtube videos as you can about backing maneuvers - over and over. Watch pre-trip videos. Memorize the Air-Brakes Test sequence the first night he gives it to you. Come with a Can-Do attitude. Harold will do everything he can on his end - BUT he can't do it for you......you have to do everything you can, on YOUR part. Apply yourself. Think of it like a month long job interview.

Hi guys, it's worth the effort to get very familiar with the atlas. Regardless of what kind of GPS you end up with, they will still get you in trouble. I have a Rand McNally Gps and still use my atlas daily.

Hey Joseph, everything online says Burleson but the email I received says Alvarado. Which is correct?

They are one in the same. They call it the Burleson Terminal, but technically the physical address is in Alvaredo.

The Burleson/Alvaredo thing is throwing off my GPS and the directions I received don't really make sense... lol. Is it at I 35 and Asher road... if not what's it next to?

I ran into the same problem. The address they gave me wasn't in my GPS. so, what i did was google the hotel. I figured out that the address they gave you was listed as Park Village Dr. When i looked it up i discovered its actually Village Park Dr. So heres a good example of why a GPS cant be your only resource. I kind of saw this as my first test of being a Trucker. We better get used to inaccurate directions and having to troubleshoot it. Another option was googling the hotel and calling them. :)
