July 14th Burleson Class - Journal

It's easier to find the hotel. Once you find that, travel about 6 miles up the frontage road that it is on. You will see the white Millis sign and see some Semi's parked inside the fence, on your right hand side. If you hit a Sonic you went a tad too far.

I'd go find it the day before so you know you have it. Their is a security gate that closes at night so you might not be able to get inside until someone is leaving.

 

DAY 15 - End Of Week 3

It feels almost over. Today we drove over to Waxahachie and practiced the CDL road course a few times each. I think every student will pass. Everybody did good.

After that, we came back to the yard and cleaned out the trucks for the next class. Harold gave us some parting words and advice.

We report back Monday morning to fill out our orientation paperwork and become official Millis employee's.

The only big hurdle left to jump is our CDL road test. We all take them on Tuesday or Wednesday. Harold says if we can keep the examiner happy for 45 minutes, that's all it will take. So we are thiiiiiiis close. We can taste it.

Then we start our 15K minimum, with our trainers, and our real schooling begins.

 

DAY 16

Orientation. Lots and lots of papework. We are part of the Millis family. Hurrah!

We also got 5 shirts and a hat. Ahhhhhh, sweet success....

....now lets hope we pass the driving test.

 

Yes, I believe I will wear all 5 at the same time, with my hat on, and dance the Jabberwokky dance (when I'm alone and nobody can see me) - IF I pass my road test tomorrow.
