I told everyone in the thread about them when they where rolled out they could do that, and people thought I was paranoid about them. I've said from day one a dash cam can help a driver, a camera in the truck is only going to screw the driver. No matter how safe of a driver you are, its not going to help you.

I've said the same thing from day one! You're not paranoid. People just refuse to believe the truth anymore.

I said the same thing when they rolled out. I could tell by what was said about them in the "safety meeting" I took part in early on.

well i may be forced to find a new job here soon. I was told we dont run much regional freight to the akron area and i am not going to drive over 3 hours one way to go to work. I am also not going back to OTR. I already dont have enough time with my beautiful wife. I am glad we dont have kids. I dont see how people can drive truck and have children. This company was fun and a great place to learn the trade but it seems to be slipping away. I never wanted to stay with millis forever but i figured i would have stayed longer than a year and a few months.

I still think it's a decent training company, far better than swift, werner etc. But after you get your one year experience in there are a lot of better jobs out there that pay more.

$50,000 in first year? They can put a camera on me for that. I plan to work hard and don't want to complain. Just rather not have a camera on me driving.

trucking deregulation + CSA210 and its provisions + NAFTA + Diesel / gasoline prices + current freight / mileage rates = a good excuse to get out of trucking

If it was used like it was meant to be used they wouldn't be bad. But when they criticize everything you do it becomes not worth it.

I would put a piece of electrical tape over the lens that points inside the cab.

After reading everyone's post in here, I would say that I don't think I could work for a company that has cameras in their trucks. What would bother me the most is that having the camera in the truck is like the company telling the driver that they don't trust them to do their job correctly. I would have to look for another company to work for and tell Millis that they can drive their own trucks. That's just me, but I've been driving for 22 years. I'm glad I read that they have cameras in their trucks because I was about to respond to an ad that they have in my area for hiring regional drivers. Thanks for the info.
