...And this is why some of us take the big plunge and become Owner/Ops ... Yes, the person that OWNS the Company makes more than the person working for him ...

People need to understand, May Trucking is an ENTRY LEVEL Company. No one gets top pay at any entry level position/company. May is a Great entry level place to LEARN and get expirience. At that point, if yer happy with May, then stay, if not, go else where. Simple!

As for me, I'm on my 2nd Truck .. I do quite well!

the thing that IS starting to bug me, is that lately I have had to sit and wait between loads. Its not long, but what has changed that it used to be I had a preplan before I did my empty call, and the loads that I am getting are pretty much right at my PTA, like i was in chicago area, delivered in the am and then ran to the oasis, sat for 30 minutes and then got my preplan which was 4 hours away and had to be there for appt in 3.5 hrs. I just called them and told them I would be late, but my question is did may not know that they were going to have that load? cause if so, and I was ready at my pta that I submitted, why wouldn't they have just given me the heads up like the day before. I would have just went straight from my cosg to the next shipper. I know its not a big deal, just seems less efficient to me...

Remember its load poor planning, not May itself. This is the biggest most crucial element that fails consistantly. Unless you are on the special list.

In the Boise area, I would constantly get loads out of Ontario that were given to me past their pickup time. I had been waiting for up to 5 hours once for a load, and by the time it got to me, I was already late for pickup. I don't know if someone else had it and there was a breakdown, but I always wondered the same thing.

..And remember .. They are Planning 1,000 Trucks everyday. The Logistics is a nightmare, at times I am amazed they can plan all of us. Yes, sometimes customers call/e-mail loads to May (and other Carriers) ... It' not just your truck or mine .. it's 1,000 drivers #####in they need a load .. (Great, now ya just made me defend the planners!)

They should be required to work same amount of hours drivers do. I promise you there would be more miles for everyone.

Huh. Anyone else not get paid today? I'll clear it up tomorrow, but just wondering. No COMDATA deposit, no email with pay stub... Guess they forgot me. Good thing I'm not hurting for cash right now! :biggrin_25523:

no pay issue with me, got email and the deposit as normal

dropped my load today in newark... I take back what I said about wanting to visit the northeast... there is NOWHERE to park, or stop, or anything!!! send me back to the country! lol
I got a preplan before I dropped it, picking up in marietta pa, going to texas. appt time says 0001-2359, me assuming that meant its already loaded, yeah right, i get here, its not ready.

i was late for my drop this morning, i got lost, it was dark and I wasn't paying attention to my routing sticky i had on my windshield, stayed on 80 when i needed to take the 280 split. right at that time I Get that 'the northeast has many low bridges, call if you get lost' message, i get off 80 and pull over and call in... he asks for my truck number and then says... "well, I cant really help you" lmfao!!! removed that automated message that says call in if you get off of route then!!!
