1st.... i will point out that all the ad's i've seen ARE NOT from us xpress or the others, they are done but by independent headhunters.....

2nd.... i/we were company drivers with us xpress for 7 years and now O/O's with then for 3 years... still happy with them

They stay in business by keeping the hiring/training door revolving. It is no coincidence that most of these companies offer training; they make $4,000 - $5,000 a head for little or no actual training. The government also allows them certain benefits for hiring a displaced or undesirable worker.

The business model implys that they have some sort of planning skills, which they do not. What they do is hire enough drivers to cover the huge seasonal surge in retail during the Christmas season. They treat these drivers like crap, pay less then crap, and riddle them with so many preventables, safety violations, and service failures that they will not be hirable by any other employer. After the Christmas surge they tall up the faults (service failures, safety violations, preventable) and let the worst of them go on the pretense of company/safety violations. This gets them out of laying off workers and paying unemployment. That way they can underbid other honest carriers for the big retail contracts.

UsXpress is a Last..and I do mean Last ..Last Resort Company..I rather find a local company before I go to Us xpress...think about it this way...Would you rather make more money per mile on all miles traveled ..hmmm or just make more money on runs from 1-199 miles??? Yeah my point exactly..USX has a sliding pay scale ...I wouldn't recommend them to my dog...they can't keep drivers...they try n run you illegal at nite, then When you refuse to take aoad they sit you for 3 days lying saying they don't have no loads...lmao....THATS WHY IM GLAD IM A O/O NOW

The only thing worse then brokers with no trucking industry experience, just in the business to skim a little money off the top, are the headhunters that just look to collect job apps off the Internet, keep the cream of the crop, get their commission and run types. They all have this crap about I represent twenty five companies, as soon as they say that, I know not to give up a name or a phone number. there is a rite aid and dollar general account that runs out of perryville, or perryman MD that seems like they have been trying to fill for three years. The headhunters will wear your phone out calling you ten times a day about that one.

    This happened to you ?

We've been at US Xpress for the past year & we've never had this happen. The company is on E-Logs so once we're down to our last 20 minutes, safety will call us to shut down.

Down where I live, its between CRST and USX. I went to USX orientation when I graduated truck driving school. 75 people and half including me got sent home. I got sent home because I was tired of waiting. I wanted to know what was going on with the process at the end of day 4. They had not told me anything and when I asked for answers, they sent me home for competitive hiring. Would I go to them again?? It would all depend. My bus trip home was paid for too.

You hear horror stories of people not getting bus ticket paid for when you get sent home from USX. Call your recruiter, and let her know someone in HR decided to send you home from orientation. They should put you in touch with the travel department and get your bus ticket paid for. Things happen for a reason, best be prepared incase it does.
