    If I could go back to your age, I would hire on at a union company on the dock. If you start on the dock you have a chance of going in the office or getting a cdl, possibly both. Not many companies want to promote drivers anymore. Not sure who all is in Columbia, just a suggestion. I'd also consider other employment in the area too. I'd consider more school too.

    There are also some company sponcered training programs that don't require you to stay on for a set amount of time. I went with swift and left after four months. All I have to do is make the payments for the course. Just another option for you.
