any time a driver starts with a new company, that company has to give the driver a road test. Is there any rule that states who in the company must administer the test? Does the person have to be a cdl holder? I am sure I have done at least one road test with a company that was administered by the head of the safety dept., who did not hold a cdl.
Reason I am asking this is, any time my company hires a new flatbed driver, they stick him with me and expect me to do the road test, train him, etc. this is getting a little frustrating for me. Can the manager do the road test himself? Note: I don’t work for a trucking company per se, I work for a distribution center with our own fleet.
Just a quick question about road tests

You should take it as a compliment. Your company has enough confidence in you to entrust a new hire with you, to train and integrate him/her into the company culture. That is is sign of leadership and responsibility, and you should not shirk from it.
