    Having seen up close some of the drivers in action, that have CDLs, I don't think any company is wasting time doing a road test these days.

    When I was a company driver I did maybe 30 road tests a year. Didn’t seem to matter though. I’ve failed plenty of people who still got hired.

    Notable favorites:
    1. Refused about 4 turns in a row because they looked too tight (wide open turns and in a daycab).
    2. Didn’t know how to connect air lines.
    3. Didn’t know what tandems were or how to slide them.
    4. When trying to back into a spot, he gave up and just walked to his car halfway out.
