Right, that’s the problem.
We here in this hemisphere need to learn to lower our standard of living down to the third world level so we’re more “appreciative” of what scraps happen to be tossed our way through company beneficence.![]()

Have you tried Challenger Motor Freight, J&R Hall or Arnold Brothers?

Trucking is something we all need to begin realizing as a thing of the past and get on with different career prospects, different ideas, or other ventures. We all need to branch OUT of trucking, however difficult that may be, it appears to be a necessity at this point and future. Godspeed. -
Anyone & everyone can rant but nothing will ever change for the better but rather for the worse. The ignorance with the Majority in Trucking now a day has become the norm amongst a lot of larger Trucking Companies in Canada from the Owners acceptance of it. Accountability from companies & lack of respect for a driver who actually has skills and coordination is what's not noticed. Alot of the New drivers have a phone glued to their head even though it's illegal a good majority do it here in Canada.
Some blame Automatic trucks whiles most blame the lacking immigration laws letting the flood gates open to max. On the 400 series highways there is at least 2 to rollovers or accidents occurring weekly if not daily. Alot of the New Canadian drivers don't even have the respect to thank another driver for flashing on a lane change. The GTA plus surrounding areas have become the worse for this.. As for a job that still considers good drivers I'd recommend unionized ones such as Pepsi, Coke, UPS etc. They are still looking for skilled safe qualified drivers who communicate properly.skipgears, Phantom Trucker and Ol'Shusquatch Thank this. -
An aszhat bunch in dispatch are a big help. Every dog has it's day. They must be given the message and will be in the end.skipgears Thanks this. -
Sadly this is true as well ...
I did speak with larger companies who are actually having trouble getting loads because of this shady ####ty East Indian run companies that are under biding everyone.
Yes, some businesses will see this in time when the're products are splashed all over the highway because of a##hole drivers that company has. Or that the're products are always late because the drivers have no integrity or respect for the work they do. But sadly then the damage is done and trucking and the people in it all look the same. There is a saying, "death by association". You get labeled with the rest when you work within the same industry.

Those are all effects of deregulation ^^^
Recently BC also deregulated the hairstyling/dressing industry, so now any monkey with a beard trimmer can be a barber! No school or certificate necessary. So now you see plenty foks walking around with jaggy ridiculous haircuts like a racoon took a crap on their head, but they paid $10 for it so it's all good. Race to the bottom continues.
For stability and fairness in any industry there needs to be valid regulation along with unionship.Canadianhauler21, BigHossVolvo and AModelCat Thank this. -
Recently I’ve seen ads for: Arrow Reload, Westcan Bulk, Lomak (up in PG), Vedder: AB/BC B-Train tank, Mullen Trucking: Surrey to Kamloops dedicated part run, $320/night.
Another solution is, widen your carrier selection by seeking out companies from out of town/province that regularly pass through or go to your area. (That could get you home).Ol'Shusquatch and skipgears Thank this. -
Must be a long spiral down the drain. Remember all my relatives complaining about trucking going down the tubes 25 years ago!
skipgears Thanks this.
