I did a fair bit of NE regional. Biggest complaint I had was that you are pretty much always in traffic. I-81, I-83, I-95, I-84 (past PA), I-90, I-93 all have relatively heavy traffic with 95 being the worst by far. Not to mention with more cars comes more idiots. Eastern Mass, especially the Boston area, ugh, don't get me started. I can handle NJ but I dreaded Boston runs the most. Other than that, it is less miles but you should get more cpm then OTR runs to make up for it. Not sure how Crete pays, but the companies I worked for the difference was noticeable but not great. To me it just wasn't worth the extra stress of dealing with traffic and having more pickup and delivery times to worry about. By the way, if Crete allows it, get familiar with the split sleeper provision as it can really save your butt, especially when you deliver to grocery warehouses up here.
