Are you using the original cabling and mounts?

Yes the Mounts are along side of mirror and the metal clears the top of truck. Cabling is the Original.

And it still works if you put the original antennas back on?

The only thing I can think of is that the K40s aren't tuned properly. Many CB antennas can cover the 10m ham band, and if they're set for the high end of 10, they will give a very high SWR on CB.

There should be instructions on how to set up the antennas for CB. You may wish to seek out some local help on tuning.

Put the fiberglass antennas back on, or just try running one of the K40's. Why do you need antennas capable of 6000 watts when your radio is pushing 4, not 4000, just 4?

The antenna ligts turn on for many diferent reasons especially when dealing with power. I cannot remember the screw name in the radio (but try to google it) that'll make the light go away. Dont get me writes ng it could be that there is a problem but try everything people tell you to do on here first but if nothing works andit bugs ya that the light is on there is a screw to turn to get it not to light up all the time. I suggest id you do this do it trial and error. Do 1/8th of a turn then key up and whistle into the mic, repete until the light goes away. That way if the problem is just the power as it could be, then the antenna light wll light up if there is an actual antenna problem.. but like i said so that as a last resort. If i find out what the screw name is called again ill let you know
