This is a special kind of humor that only a truck driver who has earned his wings in the radio world would even understand.

 

I love the "mumbo jumbo tune"
And 4000 Watts out of 16 2SC2879 transistors is pretty hilarious also.
I have a Uniden PC 76 that would out talk that $6,000 system the guy was talking about.

 

Having a rudimentary interest in scientific principles and what motivates people to spend $6,000 on a radio system ( not to mention the cost of the 400 amp alternator) that barely talks 10 miles but puts the truck stop on lockdown and a basic understanding of the scientific principles involved is the only way the humor would be understood or appreciated.
Even though this is a parody there are people in real life who are exactly like this and that's what makes this so funny.
Chances are pretty good that if you don't spend much time on channel 28 or channel 6 this will not be funny. But if you happen to be one of those people who dominate the airwaves with crystal clear quality audio you will find this very funny.
If you are one of those fortunate people who gets 20 compliments per day from other drivers saying "that's the best sounding radio I've ever heard in my life" or "I can't believe how far you are talking" or "I can't believe how far away you are and you can still hear me" or they accuse you of being a base station on top of a mountain even when you got the cruise control set at 75 and you're cruising down the highway,
Or if you're one of those people chatting at the truck stop on the radio and somebody happens to be passing through town and they tell you "I've been listening to you for the past hour and I can't believe you were sitting still that whole time" , then chances are pretty good you will find this funny because it took you a long time to get to where you are today.
