The cable Is part of the "tune".
It's a null cable. (Impedance repeater)
The other cable is an impedance transformer.
It's up to you to put it all together and finish the "tune".....

Less reactance Is closer to resonance

Ok if less reactence is closer to resonance then the top coax has a lower r in every tweek i made to my predator...
    #### this stuff..Its a pita to retrain myself in what i thought i was finally starting to understand..
Now im back to zero all over again cause im missi g something in the books somewhere

    rabbiporkchop Thanks this.

K..1st prob is that i have a term backwards..R is resistance and x is reactence..Thats todays 1st new lesson..I did how ever know that x should always be as close to zero as possible..
So next question is ..If both impedence and resistence should be 50 even if a lil lower ,how high is to high that i should be concerned ??
As for reading the mfj manual,i have a dozen times..Lol its the only way i have been learning anything, thats been trial and error

Question..If according to my arrl book the higher the coefficient of reflection # the better why is it a few points lower with marks cable..Thats reception range correct??
Wouldnt or shouldnt that be higher

Reflection shouldn't change with cable unless one of the cables has an issue the only thing that will change is impedance.

So im told, even has amphnol ends...Im just tryin to make sence of the difference of #'s..His resistence /imp #'s are a good bit higher and from what i thought i learned is a bad thing..Now his reactance is zero on 20-40 bit 10 on ch 1..
Right now to me thats the opposite of what im tryin to get..
Somewhere im missing something is all..Just gotta figure it out..Keep reading the stuff i dont understand till i do understand it..
