Hello and Welcome to the site

IMHO
I would suggest that you check with your local Community/Technical Colleges and look at their Truck Driver Training programs.
Grant money is available, for those who qualify ( unemployed, under employed, dislocated worker...). This grant money is offered through the Employment Security Commission (ESC), to help individuals to obtain training to enter or re-enter the workforce.
These grants are separate from your standard Pell grant. Lottery funds are sometimes used in conjunction with the WIA funds that the ESC offers.
Your local College or ESC will have the information to help you. In addition, they can tell you who is hiring is your area.
Best of Luck to You and Your Success!!! -
I second that motion. KC is not the only one I've seen who strongly suggests community and technical colleges. As a matter of fact, that's the route I've decided to take as well. I start class in less than a week here in NC and my tuition was less than $800. It's an 8 week class so it'll take me longer to complete, but HEY!! Who's complaining, less money and more experience behind the wheel??? Sounds great to me.kickin chicken Thanks this.
