Ive had a workmens comp claim with my work--never missed time cause of it, they ran test to try to find carpal tunnel, but nerve test came back negative, but doc wasnt sure, so he shot in some cortizone and its been all good, more than a yr now, and nothing, never did get to the bottom of it, so basically just get a note and everything stating there isnt anything wrong and good to go? Would this show up on any reports they might pull on me?????

It's not really a report as such, just you sign off giving them the right to check all previous medical records. So if they know the doctor you went to they can call and get the info. There's no national database (though I'm not sure how workman's comp data is accessed), it's straight up footwork for them. Depends on the lengths they'll go to I suppose. But there's lots of stories of people working different places oftentimes for weeks when something comes up in their background like that.

True enough but it is also illegal i think. Maybe not I'm certainly not a lawyer. Had I been asked about it or even been given the chance to disclose the info ahead of time I would have.

btw the exam I had 2 weeks prior was (as I already stated) a dot (department of transportation) physical to qualify me for work. Same as the supposed exam at TMC. Good luck with TMC all. I honestly it works out for you guys

I wish I knew man. You're in a spot and you know you're in the right. They say honesty is the best policy, but then we get SO many examples of how that's just not so.

If you were technically on workman's comp, I would guess that would be something they could find out by asking a previous employer. Your explanation really wasn't too bad. Only thing is, cortizone is a steriod, not really used for nerves (carpal tunnel) but for muscle, joint tissue, and inflammation, so just make sure you are on the same page about it.

Peterbilt79 I would either be talking to your recruiter about this now, before you make the trip up here or I wouldn't mention it at all. I hate to tell somebody to be dishonest but sometimes ya just gotta do what ya gotta do. I mean its not like you want to get hired just to make a workmans comp claim in a month. You could do that where you currently work if that was your intention. Also, I am surprised they are bringing anymore people to orientation because I was talking to one of TMC's drivers and he was saying that TMC was about to freeze hiring.

Its sorta a tough spot------the nerve test ddint reveal anything out of the ordianary, but my specialist thought there might be something-----he injected the cortizone right into the wrist, and its been fine, no issues--see they never really got to the bottom of it, so technically its probably better that way, but the companies WC companiy considered CT Ive heard they might put hiring on a freeze, but they will re-open once freight comes back. Sure hope so

Hello everyone, new guy here. My personal doctor started me on blood

pressure meds last month. I was 140/90. He gave me a little education on

eating and figured this would only be temporary. Would I be better off

keeping this to myself? I didn't tell the school doctor. Do these trucking

companies have a way of accessing your medical records?

Also, was TMC being picky about tobacco users?

If this wasn't one visit to a walk-in clinic, you'd probably be better off letting them know. They'll ask for your primary physician and probably give him a call.

Not picky bout tobacco users. Very picky about where you used them though. And whatever you do don't walk on the grass (snow covered or not) anywhere on TMC property. They will send you home for that in a heartbeat..
