CR England just fired me. That won't make it easy to get another trucking job.

Here's the background: I started with them in October 2019. In that time I had one infraction where I got ticketed for a burnt out headlight. I had 2 hard brake events over 82,000 miles and 2 U-turns that they say impacted their decision. No accidents ever. They also claim I had a speeding ticket for "1-5 mph over the limit." I have no idea about this as I was never ticketed and nothing shows on my official state driving record, so who knows? That's it.

Last week after getting my problem-child truck out of the Freightliner shop for the 4th time in four weeks I got stopped by DOT. The officer wrote up 5 inspection violations including cracked windshield. He said these were not major violations. I was not ticketed and the officer told me these were "non-point and no fine" offenses. I drove the truck on to the Colton facility and repairs were made. Two days later I'm in Salt Lake and they fire me for being "an unsafe driver."

I'm new in the industry so I admit I'm ignorant. But it sure seems like a warning or at least notification might have come first so I was at least aware I was on some sort of probation. What am I missing? Is this what I should expect? But it stinks because every company will now see I got terminated for safety.

Thank you in advance for any advice or insights.

Didn't you post in another thread about becoming an O/O but, you didn't mention in that thread that you got fired. Why didn't you tell us this?

Didn't think it was relevant to whether leasing or O/O is a good option. I only started considering lease or O/O as a result of needing to find a new option.

All in about 14 months?? So far I see poor pre-trip inspection habits, heavy foot, and poor decision making! To be honest, I am also wondering what else you are leaving out, but this is enough! I have several friends that work in Safety for this company! I would have fired you too!

The truly sad thing though is you will find another job in a few weeks. I say sadly because until you wake up and come to realize you MUST do these pre-trip inspections. You MUST practice good decision making. Until then you are in the fast lane to unhirable! Get used to that feeling of being fired, you will experience it more!

All that crap is minor stuff. Plenty of companies will hire you.
Which state do you live in?

CR England warned you at hiring. Dont get ticketed or pulled over too many times in your first year. You exceeded that so they let you go. Technically you are not an employee to them until you own a truck. It is in that mountain of paper work they gave you in the first two weeks you were there. Fun arent they?

If you have one year driven? So what. All sorts of people will hire you with one year driven. Juist dont harp on CR England. Watch your employee log in, when it stops working is when you can declare your termination date

Thanks for the reply. Maybe I deserve exactly what I got. That's why I inquired on the forum. I'm still confused that violations which are not fined or scored result in firing. However, for the record:
    1) The light burnt/went out in the middle of I-80. First I or my co-driver knew it was when stopped.
    2) What heavy foot? I have zero speeding tickets on my record? CR England claims I have 1 ticket for 1-5 mph over? I guess it could have been a fixed radar camera but nobody informed me.
    3) Yes, I failed to catch the items pre-trip inspection that got me written up.
