isn't not clutching what's called "floating" on here? (i'm guessing a lot of the terms on here are not so much used in australia) when i was delivering the tractors, one of the young fellow there told me about changing up without clutching. i practiced til i could go all the way from 1st to 8th without using the clutch. learning how to double clutch and change non synchro, then learning how to shift without the clutch gives you a better instinct for using the clutch, if that makes sense.
-
that makes sense to me ....yeah that's right floating here and oz clutching lol....
different terminologies lol...
its bad enough with English and Australian terminologies lol -
it's pretty confusing. i love reading this forum, but get a bit frustrated that there's not a similar resource for ozzies. it'd be great to have so much local info.
-
deffinatly tru there frustrating an understatement ..i even tried putting an add up for work but they rejected it because i mentioned il even clean toilets im not bothered what il do ...there's many a gd threads to read ive read quite a few
-

don't forget to check gumtree. some people advertise jobs on there, and you could probably put up a work wanted ad. also 1800drivers.com.au
I'm scraping the bottom of the barrel here, just to be working. started delivering catalogues last week and putting an app in for night fill at coles tomorrow. i think i've got a better chance of getting a decent job if i show i'm willing to take a crap one. the load restraint course is not running cos they haven't got enough people. sheesh! -
lol at gum tree i actually sent of for one on gumtree today lol..
not actually scraping the barell, perhaps with the catalogs lol night fills ok i done that for 6 years perm nights when i was in uk,sure some people would want todo a course, i was actually thinking of doing a cert 2 or 3in warehouse operations or a cert 2 or 3 in road transport but i need to check on what you actually do -
i'd love to do a traineeship cert 3 in road transport, but the only place over here that does it is either geraldton or kalgoorlie (can't remember which) but both are way too far away. you might have better luck over there. money is pretty poor with traineeships tho. one i nearly got (completely different industry but would have been a good career) would've paid around $530 per week for a mature aged trainee such as myself.
-
i am tinkering on about the cert 3 or even 2 i don't know yet , and yes trainee ships are poor really when it comes to pay , i would be more fortunate than you there Kay as tafe is in mildura the cert 3's are placements .. what would that have been if you had of done the trainee-ship kay ?
