Greensboro actually.
And it's really a Old Dominion yard, we have drop lot privileges. -
A few drivers posted it's a terminal, but a drop yard is a good benefit also.
Can a driver leave his truck there on home time? -
Can leave truck, but I'm not sure you can leave a personal vehicle. Would have to ask recruiting.Chinatown Thanks this.

This might sound silly to a lot of the hardcore truckers out there, but if you don't mind doing a little physical labor for awhile, go work for a food service or beverage company to get some useful experience. It is mostly daycab work, but after 2 years or so you will learn a ton of things they don't teach in school. You will also get to be home almost every night. I started with a food company 4 years ago with the intention of moving to OTR after I gained some experience but I really enjoy doing this now so I might not make it to a sleeper cab job until my body can't do the work anymore.

Very few people complain about having more qualifications. Better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it, you've heard the saying. Makes you more versatile, if anything. Plus, while you're sitting around job-searching its a good use of your time to study up on the material and go ahead and take the exams. They're only 20-30 questions or so. I used CRISTCDL.com and it was a decent study guide. Good luck to you. Also, it wouldn't hurt to apply and get your TWIC also. You should get a discount on your fees for Hazmat/Tankers if you do that too. That will allow you to enter ports to pick up shipements or drop them off and not only containers, but van and flatbed loads depending on what you do.
