Just had a disturbing thought about electronic logging devices the other day.

That's the reason Zukerberg wants to buy Fitbit.
Fitbit devices can be tracked worldwide.
ISIS was tracking American troops if the troops were wearing Fitbit.
Criminals, such as hitmen, have been caught because they wore Fitbit, which put them at the scene of crimes at the exact correct time the crime was committed.

Nov 23, 2019 · A stranger hacked a Seattle couple’s baby monitor and used it to peer around their home remotely and tell the pair’s 3-year-old, “I love you,” the child’s mother said. The parents’ concerns were aired Friday by NBC News affiliate KING TV, which identified the shaken mother and father by their first names only.

Technology can be wonderful, useful, and sometimes downright terrifying.

It is not difficult for China to infer troop logistics for combat. They already know what most of us Citizens aleady know those who care enough to look into it. St Louis is the headquarters for all things Logistics backed by Depots all over. Those would be the first to go and it is not difficult to disable the ports by toppling cranes etc.

The necessary security for America as we were during WW2 does not exist. And if you were to try to impose such a security you are going to find yourself with at least 10 million fighting YOU in the streets rioting about freedoms suspended for the duration of war with China or Russia etc. We will not have much time to be worrying about what is already lost today pending enemy action.

The worst of it is our skies are naked. There is no defenses to speak of. So it's not hard for a cruise missile typhoon or similar submarine to sit off both coasts and rain down hundreds that will take the USA offline for a very long time. Time enough for the Nation State enemies to achieve necessary objectives which will then require a total war commitment down to the last man, woman and child (Plus that can of soup on the shelf...) to be mobilized.

We wont be able to survive long enough to organize. America is like a giant plate glass. A tap of a peen hammer in the right spot shatters us into a billion shards. Much of which is sharp and will inflict cuts on our enemeis but in the end because we have gone soft in so many ways top to bottom it will not be possible to prosecute and win a proper war to the death as it were. Particularly if it goes nuclear.

I hate to be difficult and possibly offend our thin skinned people who feel otherwise. But things have changed so much since WW2 and not for the better. And the reason? We have been more than free and public with knowledge like St Louis being the location of Logistics Globally.

I was looking more forward to a stuxnet payback when autonomous cars & trucks are a regular thing.

Imagine the same tech used to infiltrate & wreak havoc on the Iranian enrichment centrifuges — applied to autonomous vehicles. Now THAT would be fun to watch. Crashes all over, transportation shut down, people starving within a week, food, medical, fuel, everything screwed until all servo controllers etc are replaced.

It would make a good movie anyway

You can get a little taste of that if you watch the movie "Upgrade."

Pretty solid action movie, but DO NOT expect a happy ending.
