Times like this makes CA's 55mph limit handy. Not convenient, but with my governed company ride, I dont have much choice but 59mph. which is still "speeding." I stay in the granny lane regardless, except where the "mutual lane law" is in effect, then I move over.

But if you are below the speed limit, right lane only, I say. Dealing with the 4 wheelers is part of the deal. Let the boys that can run, run.

I don't think doing 3 or 4 mph under the speed limit is dangerous or impeding under normal circumstances. I can see how it can be perceived that way on highways that are designated 65mph zones and the average speed is 72 or more, but wouldn't the hazard then be the drivers in excess of the speed limit?

I agree that a vehicle doing 62mph should not be in the left lane of a 3 or 4 lane highway just to "cruise", but being chastised someone who is actually breaking the law because they have the "misfortune" of ending up behind a governed truck is absurd to me.

Without getting into logistics, I don't think going 10mph faster on a highway is worth anything. Hit me up with equations and calculations if you want, but I've read it before. I think people are just generally grossly impatient and self centered. I'm comfortable, and somewhat ashamed to say that I sometimes fall under that generalization, and kick myself when I catch it.

im sorry, but it is absolutely annoying.
common courtesy is the key word here. i know cars merging are a huge drag but thats part of the price you pay driving a slow truck. because if your just crusing in whatever lane your effectively doing the same thing to everyone else as the cars are doing to you.

Having the ability to go a little faster is as vital as having a brake. If everyone did the same speed...every day would be schneider passing schneider.

I stay to the right unless its really heavy urban rush hour traffic with long lines of merging cars coming down all the on ramps. In that case it is what it is and you shouldn't be running like a maniac in those conditions to save 3 minutes at the end of your day. You are the primary reason there are citizen safety groups out there trying to regulate us more.

not saying its the drivers fault, but theres no reason a truck should be cut of at 62mph...

Notice the sign "Slower Traffic Keep Right", not "Keep Middle". I drive a 65mph truck as well and stay out of the way, the middle lane is the passing lane for trucks in most 3 lane situations, "STAY OUT OF IT", another know it all newb, you sir are ignorant:biggrin_25513:

One more time for those that seem to miss these words if trucks are restricted to the right two lanes and I am in the center lane then I am IMPEDDING TRAFFiC and I WILL move over.. however this was NOT case then this moron was yelling at me on the CB. When I did notice I was slowing folks down behind me I moved over and his trirade got even worse. Top to it all off wih three lanes to my left this PROFESSIONAL passed me on the right..
