I'm glad that hes trying to do right and find work to be productive. Unfortunately, he seems to be a victim of the mentality that trucking is a last resort or the "catch all/end all." How many new threads are posted every week with these same or similar issues? Sex offenders, convicted felons, drug abuse problems, etc? I feel sorry for these folks because I almost think they must get their feelings hurt when they hear rejection on the forum. The thing is though is somehow the public has the perception that if you fail at everything else, go to truck driving school. When I was an Army recruiter I used to deal with the same thing all the time. Sometimes people would get pissed off. I'd have people come in that dropped out of school, been to reformatory or juvenile boot camp, had records of drug possession, or whatever else. They alwasy just figured that they could enlist in the Army, put their old life behind them, leave town, and never look back. Well the draft era is over and the military has changed. Just like I suspect trucking has changed in the new era of the Mega Carriers.

As stated before, a smaller carrier, or a manufacturer who runs their own trucks might be the way to go. -
