It's pretty rare that someone gets stabbed for no reason.
tucker Thanks this. -
That's BS. Werner etc. reject uncountable number of applications. There is plenty of desperation in this country supplying trucking with people "willing" to fit bigger and bigger objects up their arse.

At .40 a day wages it will only take the prisoner about 35 years to pay the 5000 dollar fine.
It will cost the state a hell of alot more than that to house, feed and maintain the prisoner with the barest necessary needful things for 50 years.
I say 17 times stabbing someone is a result of something that has been building up badly over time until it's beyond snapping from rage. It's a sad wasteful tragedy all around.
I suppose now is the time to regulate and mandatory remove all sharps from tractor trailers eh?
I suspect there has been a problem long long before this thing exploded on at least the offender and the company knew all about it in one form or another somewhere.
Good drivers are getting more difficult to find and keep with each passing year.
And all that monitoring stuff equipping the fancy tractors probably was a waste of money anyway.
I leave everyone with this thought. A Company that is made aware that there is a problem between a trainer-trainee or employee-employee or anyone else should have simply seperated the two by any means possible instantly and sent a recovery team to go fetch the rig and complete the delivery.
Now that the murder trial is over and done with, I expect a full on Civil Suit to be laid before the Company at some point in the near future for failing to take appropriate steps to remove the two problem people from inside that truck leading up to the stabbing murder or worse. How much worse? Maybe the offender might go nuts mentally with 18 wheels and 40 ton committing mass murder on the highway or something.
I hate to be difficult but in my time any time two people show work place violence or potential for such, they should both be separated instantly from the work place and from each other by any means necessary. I think the Company probably exposed themselves to massive losses on the civil side by it's requirement that two very hostile mutually parties involved against each other to take the truck to South Bend or wherever.
It was my habit when encountering employees who are making threats (Even if its a Boss a time or two in my life experience) to simply not be around. Even if it means quitting the entire company and finding another job before it escalates to the point that the freedom is lost or life is lost or at a minimum someone gets really hurt badly. It's the best path. To move on before things truly get very bad.
However it wont be successful sometimes. When cornered I would fight as best as I can until the threat or threats plural with more than one stranger in public is settled one way or another. It's a mess.
Hopefully this particular situation and all of the details will guide all other trucking companies to work really quickly to separate any two employees who have turned in grievances or become hostile or show a potential for violence for whatever reason before it progresses to stabbing, shooting or god only knows what else the aggressor could do with a 40 ton or more 18 wheeler.
That's my take on this whole sorry situation. Im sorry the trainer did not make it. Evidently the doctors did their level best as did life flight. I would tell that provider of trauma care and transport to bill the inmate all of the costs as well. Don't let him off with a simple 5000 dollar fine. Bill him everything else too. And along that train of thought, bill him the costs of the housing, feeding and so forth as well. Why should the people have the burden and cost of someone who tried to attempt Capital Murder by knife?Lab work Thanks this. -

The Moderators and "Staff" as you call them are very very good. Some of them are three steps ahead of me sometimes and bite me bad when i deserve it.
If something comes onto TTR and it's deemed by them something too personal or otherwise a liability they will remove it really quickly. They show patience most of the time as people work out issues here. Otherwise if it gets too bad then thread bans, locks and other actions are taken and escalated until things are back in order in their house.
Once in a while I see myself moderated, deleted or changed to something better and that's fine. Fewer times than that, I might beg their indulgence when I choose certain words in a manner of speaking trying to make a situation explained clearly. Sometimes they find a better set of words and leave it at that.
I don't worry about the moderators too much. I usually try to be pretty careful with those who wish to pick a fight or cause trouble or something stupid with me. That happens from time to time because I am gullible at times.
However. What bothers me more than anything is that certain persons have been here a while and should not have been mistreated as they sometimes were and decide to leave TTR. To me, it's a loss and they are missed something awful by myself because I learned to value their pearls of wisdom.
I hope to hear from them or see them again some day when they think things have improved enough and healed from whatever hurt them. But I don't think that will happen any time soon.88 Alpha, Maj. Jackhole and bullhaulerswife Thank this.
