The slimebag will say anything to get you to take the truck. The DOT will not accept that as an excuse when you plow a loaded tractor into a car full of innocent people. When you get a CDL.. Its your DUTY to walk away, no matter how broke and desperate you are. You newbs with no experience and a short resume.. Youll have your chance to drive one of these soon enough.
Dont.
Your problems will get worse, not better, by taking this job. You cant put bullets back in guns after you pull the trigger. Well a wheelhub coming off in traffic is no different. Its too late to say sorry i dont want this job.
Just Say NO.

What the ####
How did it wear that badly at such an even rate on either edge? -
Ok,
No!FlaSwampRat, Woodys and Diesel Dave Thank this. -
Looks like that tire was run low on air didn’t wear the middle but wore both edges
-
That tire is not acceptable and also indicates a either run flat run low or internal steering or front end suspension issues. That must require shop time.
I throw around the words Shop all the time. But I am very well aware that tight fisted owners cannot be bothered to take on a 6000 dollar repair job lasting a week. WHich will lose him thousands more potentially.
Forcing the driver to bypass a defect listed in DVIR and so forth is a form of Corection, if someone correct me is enshrined in Federal Law in particular to Commerical Truckers since 2013. It literally will be come a federal case.
I wonder what percentage of our socalled commerical vehicle drivers do not possess the personal spine to say "No I WIll not drive this defective vehicle (or two simple words, hell no...) " /Rhetorical Question.
THAT answer will provide a constant flow of failed vehicles and abuses therein.FlaSwampRat, just_sayin, mjd4277 and 2 others Thank this. -
Probably about 15%. Plus another 10 that just don't give a ####FlaSwampRat and x1Heavy Thank this.

First pic is driver steer, 2nd and 3rd are passenger side. All shoulders are worn off and there are various lumps and scallops on each tire. Worst ive ever seen. A BS story and excuse for everything that just kept changing.
I didnt bother to jack it up but im thinking KPs, TRE's and maybe WB's. Steering box and shaft definitely junk. I drove it 30 mins away from the owner to get my composure and talk to wife in private about our next move. It was so far out of alignment that i could smell a constant waft of rubber at 55 and it bounced, shimmy'd and floated all over.
I made the call, it turned into an argument and i brought the truck back and walked away. Cost me a job but i am relieved not to be trying to unwreck that thing or repower a load and find a way home.austinmike, FlaSwampRat, dwells40 and 11 others Thank this. -
