Hey @Dave_in_AZ :
I've been wondering, what do you mean by "micro carrier"? I thought I'd eventually figure it out from context, but no such luck.
I'm pretty sure it's not about hauling craft beer...KillingTime and Dave_in_AZ Thank this. -
First its nearer $180 day.
Second I'm going to say 75% of my time, 66% maybe, is sitting being loaded or unloaded, so yea there's that lol.
It's direct deposit. Dude I worked my ### off at Schneider for the same money, with PUNKS absolute PUNKS. They did have a few good drivers, but the ones in the office made my skin crawl.
He has like 40 tractors, maybe not even that many. 80 to 100 trailers.
One woman does all the paper, all of it.
Two guys and the owner do the planning, three others in the office total.
Everyone is planned out for two weeks. Don't even ask for day off / home time less than three weeks notice.
But everyone lives in or near Phoenix, and all the line goes strait out, reload, back to Phoenix, so your by the house a few times a week.
There are no driver numbers.
My driver code is my name.
Forgot -- One full time trailer mechanic. Two full time tractor mechanics. And the office is manned 24/7, by someone that recognizes your voice, and you theirs.Last edited: Nov 15, 2016
Toomanybikes, SidewaysBentHalo, Hammer166 and 5 others Thank this. -
You're lucky they have 3 mechanics. I worked for a company that size once that had only 1 mechanic--and no shop whatsoever. He worked outside, all year long, in rain and snow, and in triple-digit as well as sub-zero temps. That dude was a beast.
Toomanybikes, BUMBACLADWAR and Dave_in_AZ Thank this. -
I've worked at a couple joints that didn't have a shop on site. What a joke...just hope nothing is wrong with your truck or trailer when it's 15 degrees outside.Toomanybikes Thanks this.

I tried a company that everyone knew my name. I hated it. They wanted to hang out after work socialize and crap.
Leave me alone dude I'm just here for money & somin to kill time xD
I like being a number.
Who?
Megas aren't all that bad in that way.
Anti social loner folks kinda thrive in that culture.
I can tolerate UPS a lot better than the less than 10 driver company. That's for sure.Getsinyourblood, PacoTaco, TheDudeAbides and 1 other person Thank this. -

Mega's are what destroyed the industry.
Which is why everyone should just say NO to mega carriers.
If you're anti social, why are you posting on a forum?
Today is just another great day to be an American and say NO to mega carriers.Last edited: Nov 17, 2016
Toomanybikes, Ruthless, Pete jockey and 3 others Thank this. -
Not to mention megas are the ones doing all the beta testing for robot trucks with here auto braking crash avoidance #### and auto transmissions. People should use there head and realize they are beta testing for there replacements since mega will be early adopters ...
Ruthless, Dave_in_AZ and Rusty Trawler Thank this. -
No they are not, we did. We gotten to be a bunch of cry babies and stopped fighting for what needs to be protected and for what needs to be changed.
Ok we are stuck with the cdl crap but why do we continue to insiste that it be easy to get a cdl when that is one of the biggest factors involved with us getting more bs regulations, shouldn't we fight to make the testing harder to filter out the substandard drivers and keep the ranks from growing to stop these companies from producing crap drivers through their revolving door system?
The same goes for speed limiters, we seem to praise those who are making miles while ignoring the fact that we need to change that mentality and to let rates rise.
I could go on but some get it, others will never.bowhunter67 Thanks this.
