I would be willing to bet there are grants that most all AL residents can apply for to help with cost of training......private schools will not mention this unless they apply to their institution. I would do some good investigation and get a good school, like I said they will reimburse you for your eduaction up to a certain amount. I'm sure C1 is a good school, but why not attend the best? The more seat time will not make you an expert, but more comfortable with the driving, so your trainer at USA or what ever company can focus on the hard parts of the job, like managing your hours and trip planing so you can make some money.
Just some questions

I'm in school right now. We haven't started in the trucks yet we're still in the classroom portion. But from what I was told by my instructor is that people with no experience will be easier to teach because they have no bad habits from driving a manual car that will have to be fixed. But again, I'm not really sure, it's just what I was told.

Quite,
That s so true, I grew up around trucks and had some bad habits I had to break. Plus I thought I knew more then I did, I had moved a few rigs around the lot and thought I knew it all........I was never so humbled in my life, as I found out how little I really knew! -
Having very little experience with a stick shift might actually help.
You won't be trying to shift by habbit like I did,big rig shifting is quite different from a car or pickup trans, they won't shift like a car at all so if you try it that way you'll fail. -
wow never thought that not having much stck shift experiance on a car, might actually benifit me on a semi lol!
