Yeah, I'm not really paying attention to his meaningless opinion. If he'd like to make a more mature argument then I'd be glad to listen.

My youngest son did his training and a stint as a company driver with WERNER out of Allentown.
Like you he had to start someplace and did not want to do it in the family operation.
He lucked out and got a decent trainer as well , miles went by fast and he saw a lot of the country. -
I'm in El Paso, TX at the moment. I paid for an hour of internet for my laptop at an IdleAire location to check email and whatnot while we wait for our load. It'll be ready by 10pm and we're taking it to Ohio. I'm at just over 129 hours right now, and I live in PA. I'm really hoping I might be able to manage getting to 140 before we get to Ohio, call in for my PTO, and get a load towards the Allentown terminal so I can go home for a week.
Can't wait to see my bed.. and my space.. I can't wait to have my own truck lol. I'm starting to get tired of sharing someone else's tiny space

stick with it! your almost there and doing great!

"Dude, do whatever you think is right. This jerry cat apparently aint happy with no company except his own and has yet to share an opinion with anybody, even concerning his own company which leads me to believe if you say red he says blue while at the same time if you would've said blue he would've said red. Good luck be safe."

I'm somewhere in Arkansas right now. Getting ready to take over here pretty soon. Heading to the terminal in Ohio for a split. This is one of the times where a split is much welcomed since the load is going into New Jersey haha.
My trainer is an owner operator. He leases his truck from Werner. It used to be a company vehicle. It's a Freightliner Classic with about 440k miles on it and it's starting to have lots of issues lol. The most annoying would be that the clutch is starting to just not work anymore
Other than that, all is well. There's no APU on this truck and since he is an owner operator, he tries not to idle whenever possible to save money on fuel. That part sucks. I'm not a big fan of waking up in a pile of sweat
Good thing about Werner is that all of the trucks they are buying these days come with APU's equipped. I'm sure that I'll be limited to a small selection of used trucks when I get my own in a few weeks, though. If none of them have an APU, I'm just going to go for the oldest pile of crap I can get, that way I know it'll be sold or just die sooner and be replaced by a brand new truck with APU and whatnot.
Either way, I'll probably still be idling most of the time because driver comfort is extremely important to me lol.
Werner doesn't pay a lot, but if you're willing to stick it out for a year or so until you start getting brand new trucks, I think it might be worth staying. I like the paperless log system a lot too. I'm a 21 year old computer junkee. Anything that involves actual paper is evil to me lol.
But yeah I can't wait to be driving a new truck. I'm a neat freak and a perfectionist. The inside and outside of my truck will be spotless lolLostOne9 and bigpapa7272 Thank this. -
Whats a APU?
