Welcome, let me start of something here, you may heard "starter" companys, there are company mostly good just to get your exp in and get your feet wet.Now about werner,I never work for them but I was prehired with them and attent to there ordertation. If the tell you that you start at 34.cpm,its a lie. After 6 weeks of training, you will start at .26cpm not .34.If thety tell you that after training you can chose a truck, its a lie. They chose or give you few to chose from, most likely it will be one of the beet up ones and it will have its issues.Theres lots of other comanys you can look into, but if you decided to go with werner, make the best out of it.I was in your shoes at one time too,I was also told lies. The recuiter will tell you everything good you want to hear, but some may or will be lies. When the werner guy came to my school,he was the coolist guy I seen in a long time.He stated you start at .34cpm,guest what, its a lie.He said you pick your truck after training, guest what, thats a lie.The best thing to do is do some homework,go to a local truck stop.Talk with drivers from werner, swift, tmc, etc and see what they say.And for your instructor,he may be getting extra $$$ just to said how good werner is.I wouldnt take a pass on that, but I can be wrong.Anywhy good luck and drive safe.

I have heard many things about them that is good too, I spoke with a gentleman there about being an owner operator once I get my own truck and he has been nothing but helpful and had kept in touch now whether he is being typical of a recruiter or not has yet to be seen but so far he hasnt given me any of the snake oil sales crap others have given me

    Wratherax,
I know I'm late replying in this thread, but may I say this: Where ever you decide to go, try to stay there for at east 6 months to a year. If nothing else just to get some mile and experience under your belt. After that amout of time, you'll be abe to go to any company you want. I'm surprised that the other experienced driver's in the thread failed to mention that. But whatever you do, good luck.
