Not to defend our fellow littering drivers but I have heard a few over the cb talking in the past about this very issue.
It seems the drivers save up their urine bottles and dump them in areas where they have had tickets issued and in truck stops that have treated them shabbily.
I know many drivers that save their trash and dump it in Ohio but refuse to buy fuel or anything else in that state because of speeding tickets they received.
Littering to these fellas appears to be retaliation for slights they received (or perceived) from cops, dot, or truckstops that charged too much for certain items in the truckstop.
Kinda petty if you ask me but then again some of the drivers out here tend to be pretty childish at times.
Just when ya think ya seen everything...

I been seening alot of the same thing and can not beleive that people can be that lazy to go dump it out in the poper place I my self carry a port-pot that i got from wal-mart its cleaner than pee-bottles

I have yet to see a load so hot that you cant take a shower every other day, I know daily depending on where your running can be hard but to go 1-2 weeks w/o a shower is BS. On the trash and piss bottle junk.. How long does it take to walk up to a trash can and throw it away??? I am glad to see that are lots of fellow drivers that think its wrong for some pig to throw his crap on the side of the road. This is whats hurts us in the eye of the general public, DOT, cops, etc.... Lets clean up our act

There's logic for ya...I hate this place cause they treated me like ####,so I'll just go ahead and prove to them that truckers really ARE filthy animals..That'll fix 'em!! It's to where I'm embarassed to even be around truckstops...the poor folks workin there, you KNOW they percieve us all as pigs.Wouldn't bother me so much if I didn't agree with them.

Yea I still dont see the point of acting like a dog... ok so some shipper/reciever or DOT state of CA or OH pissed you off....Still no reason to leave piss bottles or trash all over the place. You are right on how the employees at the T/S feel about us....It's because of drivers act like dogs....
-
I'm not averse to peeing in a bottle, sometimes it's way easier or quicker.but I also have no problem carrying it till I get to a trash can, either. Don't know about them porto-johns...takes up alot of space, and the potential for leakage/splashing?

I have a feeling that most T/S employees have gotten very good at sniffing out in a hurry who is a pig and who isn't.
Just like it doesn't take long to figure out who is an ### hole and who isn't. -
This is one of those topics that really doesn't have anything to do with trucking itself........... just decent, common courtesy.....
I wouldn't be surprised if the same guys leaving those jugs on the ground sit around whining about how the youth of today have no respect, motivation or appreciation for what they have..........
Have any of them (or you guilty parties that are reading this) considered how growing up watching adults commit such rude disrespectful acts affects these kids........ why do you think they have no respect, motivation or appreciation??.......has anyone ever heard of learning by example???
While I am on my soapbox......... would someone please tell me why so many people do not consider cigarette butts to be litter...... even though they consider a gum wrapper of the exact same dimensions to be??? I can't count the number of people I know that would never throw "trash" on the ground or out of a vehicle...... yet they will "flick butts" on the ground everywhere they go..........Just curious......
Handing over the soapbox now....Last edited: Jun 4, 2008
rjones56 Thanks this. -
I was talking to a CHP officer in Cali last year, and he told me that one of the reasons california is closing off some on ramps is because caltrans complains that pee bombs explode all over their faces at times when they're mowing, and , they're tired of cleaning up the ones that don't explode or aren't in grassy areas.
