My husband tried the lease purchase program with JB Hunt after promises of great money and the lure of eventually owning a truck. Reality is: little miles, the headache of paying for fuel, maintenance, own insurance, keeping track of taxes, truck payment on an old truck that probably would be wore out before your last payment (more than not you would never own the truck)
Bottom line: we were in financial hell and when he looked into terminating the lease he was told there was an early termination fee of $3,600.00. Stay away from Lease Purchase Programs from any company. They are designed to benefit the company, not the driver.

So true. There is a good reason the companies have to push the FLEASE scams so hard. Those "in the know" know to stay the hell away from those deals. The companies thus have to push them onto the naive drivers who don't know any better.

If lease operator plans were so good, a lot more people would be doing them, and the companies wouldn't have to push them or advertise them. They pester newbie drivers to sign onto that dotted line because experienced guys know better. Experienced guys like us know the lease operator scam is just that--a scam. But as long as there is a constant supply of patsies who buy into the company speil, the Flease operator scam will be alive and kicking.

I would like to thank everybody for the advice. Now I know not to listen to any of the lease program offers. I would like to be an O/O but like somebody posted earlier, I think I'll look into driving for a company to learn the ropes first. Hope to see y'all out there someday.:biggrin_25525:
