Once a driver is on his own. Does Maverick have microwaves, tv's and fridges that can be purchased from them and installed or does a driver have to purchase these privately? As for the tv how much is the bill for satellite service. Sorry for all the stupid questions. I'm just trying to figure out what I need to purchase. Thanks in advance for any response.
Just wondering

Don't buy anything until you get a truck. Save your money for now.
Ridgerunner665 Thanks this. -
If you're coming in as a student, don't worry about that stuff right now. Save your money. I will say that once you go solo, a trucker GPS comes in VERY handy for trip planning and time management when you're first starting out, AS LONG AS YOU DOUBLE CHECK WITH THE ATLAS. I would make that first priority. It's much easier to tell your FM how long until you arrive if you have that helping you.
But again, wait until you go solo and actually get the keys. I'm sure you'll do fine, but there are no guarantees. There are guys who come into training and find out they're diabetic, or failing kidneys, or any other number of things that can come up. So wait until you know for sure. -
You'll definitely need a cooler. They are about 89$ at Walmart. And like the above poster said, get a GPS. I also keep a 19" television with an XBOX360 for gaming on my off time. If you plan to cook in the truck, look into a lunchbox oven as well. 35$ at Loves. And definitely get a headset if you plan on doing a lot of talking over the road. But I agree....wait until you actually get your truck.

And I'm telling you right now, those mattresses in the truck are pretty bad, so think about investing in a 99$ twin sized mattress topper from Walmart.

So true! I found a pillow top twin sized Sealy mattress at Big Lots for $89, so that's the way I went. But a lot of guys use the toppers. I am a pretty picky sleeper so I wanted the full mattress. And if you can get the #### thing into the truck, you're ready for flatbed work LOL.
