I'm still here at Van Wyk and things are fine. Just like every other place it is what you make of it. Do your job & be safe, that's all we ask. Being around Junction City really isn't a problem either, it's within a stones throw of a lot of freight for us.

KB has blue cross.Think I was paying 50 a week cant remember for sure.Dont know how much the family plan is.There are strings attached to the guarantee salary. You have to be available for all loads for that week, otherwise u get dropped down to mileage pay for that week.KB does not run the drivers ragged, you sit a lot but you have to be ready for a load no matter what once you're empty.Dispatchers are very aggressive.I hope your husband decided on Van Wyk,I haven't heard anything bad about them and I have a feeling he would be happier there.

Van Wyk's percentage is ok if you don't mind doing mostly east coast regional, which does get you home each week if you live, and Dave out in the KS terminal is good to work with and they have a lot of regional reefer freight of in the Midwest. The downside is if you like to run strictly east-west,or like to run to the west coast, the east bound loads pay really nice and are well scheduled, but loads going west pay lousy, and expect LOTS of deadhead miles at times. I got fed up with the sometimes secretive attitude from some of the people in Sheldon, as well as the sloppy communication out of the virginia terminal and went back to a small family dry van outfit I was with previously for years running a good mileage rate. If you go to VW, make sure you get an idea and take note of what certain loads pay to the truck, and make sure they give you an honest answer, not some evasive guesstimate. Personally I can't say I totally recommend percentage pay, IMHO.

Seeing as this thread is about 1.5 years old, i think the OP has made their decision.
