The only one I actually got to drive was an old Werner tractor, it was still in great shape at the time.

Those Werner units were sharp cleaned up and taken care of .
Downfall to them was a 315 Cummins with a 9 speed or a 310 cat with a 9 ....another reason they were step children.

Well like I said good trucks but in that period of time they basically became a dinosaur almost overnight.
Workers comp claims were an issue them also and as length laws liberalized the t600 and fld 120 became king of the hill .
Big power well speced k100e areodynes lived on for a few years but it was the end of the line for low power trucks like Werners .
Mine went to container work in the Minneapolis area and I'm sure was eventually junked .
Love the cascadia I own now and at 775000 its looks new but it with outlive its usefulness someday too .
    It's a tool for making money .

I cursed some of those low powered trucks even to this day.

You just finished winding out 6th high hit a little 1% hilllock on US 15 north and fall off into 5th low. Rewind engine out and get into 6th high. (Around 38 or so...) hit the next hill towards Harrisburg. When you fly down hill off that one you finally have reached top gear but cannot stay there on the next upgrade, having downshifted two and watching your tach unwind some more.

I quit three companies like within the hour when I realized just how bad their equipment was. Their response was to tell me to treat them as if we never met. Two were out of business in a year, one in three months. Good riddiance.

One glorious day I told a fleet buyer his trucks was BS. He huffed like a peacock and went on for 5 minutes about the precision and planning that goes into every spec on his profitable trucks.

Great, here is the key, hop in that one there and show me right now all about this precision profitable BS I dare you.

He actually got it out on the interstate and the first 5% he hit The truck fell down to 18 mph before he was able to stablize it in one gear. Then I told him it will be about 40 minutes to the top while big horse rigs blazed by at near speed limit upgrade loaded.

I had visions of the whole fleet being converted to 450 cats that month.

    Ya right.

Found a couple more pics in my collection of a local Aerodyne that as far as I know is still working, real clean truck.
