I will ask Caleb in recruiting but wanted to ask Maverick drivers directly. How is FB freight going thru the Kansas City area? Also does anyone know a trainer that lives near KC so I could possibly get home during training once in a while. I will ask recruiting but just wanted others opinions.
Thank you all for the posts I have read every post in the Maverick forum.
Still working on getting my wife on board.

The kc area is a slow freight area but you shouldnt have problems getting home there. I live in windsor and get home regularly without much problem.
highspeed1972 Thanks this. -

If you have to work to get your wife on board I don't think it work out too well. Just my two cents I could be wrong. Wish you the best hope things work out well for you. We do go out to St. Joe and KC on a regular basis.

Thank you sewer man. Yea I agree with that bout wife. That is one reason I would like to get on with Maverick FB. I like ability to get home for a little time most weekends. She can handle that but no way can she handle the 6-8 week otr job.
She is very supportive about me doing things I want to do. Her and I have a ton of respect for one another. We live way below are means and we both know how short life is. -
I will start the orientation and training soon with Maverick at Little Rock, can any of the old drivers provide me info regarding Maverick Lease purchase program? Is it work to start your own trucking business?

Heya highspeed, I just saw this thread on here, hadn't been here in awhile. If it helps with your wife at all, there is no division in Maverick that is required to stay out 6-8 weeks at a time. The most you're required to stay out is 2 weeks, and only the TCD (refrigerated) division is required to stay out that long. However, FB guys do sometimes end up missing a weekend here and there, but from what I understand it's not common.
palmaro, ask them about this in Little Rock. I do know that you must have 1 year of OTR experience before Maverick will lease to you, so if you're a new driver, you've got a year to wait. If you already have experience, now seems like a good time to ask about it, I hear that Maverick is cutting new lease drivers a nice deal on the 2011 Freightliners (last number I heard was $340 per week).highspeed1972 Thanks this.
