Ya I tried to ask him what the deal was but he would never tell me the answer. Do you pass through western PA at all? I am asking to see you go past the Pilot on I-79 at exit 99. If you do, (or you as well raezzor) I would like to possibly meet with either of you to talk and see if you could refer me to Cressler and tell Tom that I would be a good choice. Let me know if you'd be up to meeting. Send me a private message with your email address, if you have one, if you wouldn't mind.

Well this will be my last update on this thread concerning Keen. Last Thursday was my last day with them. I gave them about a 10 day notice, and they routed me back through Carlisle on Thursday. It would have been more convenient for me to return the truck to one of there terminals in NC, but during the orientation you agree that when you quit that you will return the truck to there Carlisle terminal or you will be charged a mileage fee if they have to get it from one of there other locations, I always try and leave a company on good terms, so I didn't have a problem following there wishes concerning the return of the truck. They even rented a vehicle for me and put it on there corporate account, and they will deduct the $ 136.00 from my final check.
Let me just say that Keen is by far the best company I have driven for and I leave them with no ill will towards them. I was just offered a better job for me and my families needs at this time. I will be home every weekend and maybe once during the week. The main reason I decided to leave Keen was that I grew tired of being gone for 4 to 5 weeks at a time. They want you to stay out a minimum of three weeks, but to realistically make decent money you need to stay out at least 4 weeks, I found that the week leaving the house was usually a short week, and the week heading to the house was the same. I don't mine being gone that long if im being productive on the weekends, but over the 2.5 years I worked there I usually found my self stuck at a truck stop or terminal over the weekend with plenty hours to run and be productive, but not able to run because of permit restrictions, waiting to load/deliver on Monday.
I finally decided that if im going to be away from home for weeks at a time and be stuck somewhere over the weekend. I would rather be at home with my wife and daughters instead of some s@#% hole truck stop...spending money and not making money. So over the last month or so I started researching companies near the house that I could get home on the weekends and still make a decent living. After much research and due diligence I believe I have found the right company. I will start a new thread on them in the coming weeks.
Again in closing let me just say that Keen is a great company. The freight they pull is great, the people that work there...office personal and drivers are all for the most part good people. The equipment is the best maintained I have ever driven, and the pay is top tier in the industry. I will be taking a pay cut, but I believe they time I will get to spend with my family will make up for the difference in pay. -
Well I guess the only left to say then is good luck and god speed. Hopefully it will work out for you.

I noticed allot of the posts here have been done a year or so ago but I am hoping to get some questions answered about Cressler/Keene.
I didn't have enough flatbed experience to get hired directly for Keene so I accepted an offer from Cressler although I guess technically they are owned by the same people. So the recruiter Tom has told me that it's mostly northeast regional home every weekend and that drivers average about 900 to 1000 dollars a week can any one shed some light on if that is true or not? I have been with the same company for three years doing van/tanker/refer/doubles with extensive driving in the NYC area I like the job and don't mind staying I am just looking for a change in scenery and expand my resume by getting some flatbed and perhaps at a later time some oversize experience not to mention it would be nice to not have to drive a freightliner thats got more duct tape then paint on it. So I would really appreciate if anyone out there can give me so details on if they like the company and benefits or not I know their are some pretty bad company's out there so don't want to leave something good unless the grass is greener on the other side Thanks everyone . -
Ive decided to go back to keen. They are by far the best I know of. Ill be attending their orientation on 7-11-11. Anyone else attending, shoot me a message

Yes, Keen allows riders. My wife usually rides with me for 6months @ a time. No the trucks only have single bunks.
