ragold, have you heard anything on Argee Transport? They are a heavy haul company outta Iowa. Didnt know if you have heard anything about them or not!

I kinda of stay in my own little world

I spoke to a driver this morning and heres what i found out:

Most of their drivers stay their a long time (theres a o/o whos been their 35+yrs
They pay .47 mile unloaded and loaded
They haul mostly for cat
Only 1-2 o/o have their own trailers
He averages 3500 mile a week and lives where I live
They prefer new applicants to have 1yr of flatbed experience or hauling heavy equipment ex.

I hauled oilfield equipment during the 80s boom. It was frustrating and fun. 150,000 hydraulic rig and tear down all the wires crossing 66 in Stroud OK. Went over some bridges rated for 30 T with it too. Hauled pipe tubs weighng 140,000 on a triaxle trailer. worked in mud so deep got a D6 and a JD the same size stuck. Some nasty- some fun!!

puttin 150 on a bridge rated for 60? not my idea of fun or smarts!
