With my bug shield and drop visor not much got on the windshield, it had to be coming a pretty good rain for me to turn the wipers on. When I took the bug shield off I noticed a diffrence but not enough to put the ugly thing back on.

* edit so yes it did make somewhat of a diffrence in my case.
