Inside the truck stop. The TA sells them in their shop area store usually. If not, hit Walmart

Ok, I now have to agree with the other poster.....you need to find a better company ASAP!!!! I gurrantee you guys are not making that great of money, and if the company runs equipment that does not work then I'm guessing they don't make money either. Get out now before they break your wallet too.

Theres an AC with 12volt adapter I saw online last night. It sits in a cooler.
apparently you place block ice in a cooler then place this flat device on top with cooler lid open, plug into lighter and it blows cool air.
google an AC with 12volt adapter, or I'll look for it on the web too and let you know.

i was gonna sa y that too the igloo cooler is nice i built my own out of a old still parts a heater core and fan , it keeps the truck inside down too about 10 degrees then the outside air, but with no humidty its feels cooler then outside air, also on e bay they sell cooler vest you wear , them are nice but the downside they leave you in a wet mess

While you are in the process of finding a new company, you idle the truck. If the bunk a/c doesn't work, get a TA or Petro to fix it. You aren't paying for it, and your husband needs to be well rested in order to drive safely. Tell the company that if they don't want the truck idled, you all will be more than happy to get a hotel room at their expense. I would also start looking into any legalities that your company might be trying to get around. You should not pay a dime for anything. Not a sunshade, not a portable a/c, nothing. You all are company drivers and as such should not have to pay (both literally and figuratively) for their crap.

If you don't mind me asking, what's the year/make of the truck?

Don't be so nice to the company you work for. In a pinch they will disown you and throw you under the bus- then completely forget you. Add a bad DAC report to that for kicks.

You can bet the company's offices are air conditioned and heated, you won't ever see dispatchers and load planners trying to see computer screens with sweat stinging their eyes and dripping on the desk. Loyalty and dedication has limits, you're uncomfortable and no one you work for cares.

Nice trucking company- they might be on TTR's bottom feeder list.
