Don't drive for them?
Eowyn and AtticusRoad Thank this. -
Sure there are, from the simple like rolling down a window and using a fan, to the exotic like water dripping system.
The question is, why are you thinking about working for a company that doesn't provide apu's and limits idle time? I don't know of a more sure fire way to try and kill a driver. Either via not enough rest, or even heat stroke if it's hot enough.
Now that said, I dunno if SNI limits idle time or not. My sole experience OTR is Swift, and they didn't care. Actually it was kinda sad. Aug I got a call from my dm, stating idle was 49% (think about that for a sec, I was sitting way too much) and I wasn't even in the top 10 on her list.Last edited: Apr 21, 2017

With all the no idle zones popping up, it's gonna get tough for the pumpkin.

I dont believe there is a idle issue. Im going into their tanker divison this week. I start on Monday in PA.
I just wanted to know what you guys used to do before apu'sAtticusRoad Thanks this. -
How about that! The best way to reduce idle time is to keep the wheels turning. Maybe they will figure that out one day.
I'm sure the temp in the dispatch office is like a nice spring day. But you driver, you need to reduce the idle time! This is a business you know. -
I worked for a small company that had apu but it broke the first night i got the truck and i about freaking died. I was waking up sweating and i couldnt keep cool. The #### ac wasnt working either. I think it had no charge on the ac. Needless to say it was fixed the next day because i told them i wasnt doing another load until then.

Well, something breaking is one thing...And yea I would have tried for a hotel if it was that hot. As long as it did not keep happening (crap breaking) then that's just the nature of the job.Stormmc2 Thanks this.
