I believe when i brought it in they traded me trucks while it was being fixed. Then that same night i went to go look in the back and found a bedbug. I flipped out (i have kids and wasnt trying to bring that crap home) and i actually got a hotel that night. It was nice. They let me pick. I got a mid priced room, not another bedbug place but not super fancy, just normal.

Back when I was OTR we used to either idle and run the A/C which was why the parking lot of the big truck stops would choke you to walk thru, OR we simply rolled the windows down and opened the sleeper door which you didn't do at the truck stop or you would choke!

Schneider trucks have inverters. I got by just fine before that though. As for the no apu, it's never been an issue to me. I idle all summer and have never heard a thing about it or missed quarterly bonus. And even if I did, who cares. I sleep comfortably.

@19d can answer that question also. Probably just idle the truck and stay comfortable.

Schneider has the temp based idle, mine wouldn't unless it was below 30 or above 67. They tell you to idle for comfort as needed, Espar heater for winter, and will put you into a hotel to reset if you're somewhere too warm.
I would say 1/4 of the trucks had the freightliner parksmart system for AC at night.(at least out of Dallas). If they complain about your idle time, ask for a parksmart equipped truck.

The idle policy only matters if your trying to get the Bonus. Other than that it's no issue. Schneider has 5 different criterias you have to meet to get the bonus which makes it IMPOSSIBLE. Once I realized this I idled my truck every night.

You know what you're in for if you drive for Schneider so I suggest find another company. You can also look at it this way,if other Schneider drivers can do it there's no reason why you can't.You can also buy a battery operated fan.

I don't remember them all but if I remember correctly it was
    1. Fuel (Mpg)
    2. Idle %
    3. Get fuel where they wanted you to
    4. You ETA pretty much has to be spot on or within like an hour of when you set it.
    5. Overspeed %

Like I said don't quote me exactly but I believe that's what they were

    MidwestResident and ExOTR Thank this.
