I keep the defrost on high and if I start to see any slush or ice on the wipers I turn them on full speed and fling the crap off be for it gets a chance to fully freeze. I've never had good luck with the winter blades the don't let the wiper sit quite right on the windshield and leave a patch unclean right in the middle of the driver side windshield could just be that model of frieghtliner but thats been my experience.

I found my windshield was icing up behind the toll and prepass transponders. I pulled them when not needed and that helped.

I am not sure but I think that overhang over my window is what prevents ice buildup since I have been in huge snow storms and my windows are actually clean.

That is nuts. Leave it to California. It is interesting that they like to make laws which requires truckers to purchase products made in California. I believe the skirts that they require van owners to install are also made in the state. I look for the highest percentage of alcohol that I can find. It is usually 91%, I believe. I have never had a problem using it in my washer reservoir.

probably not but id suggest geting a few drops of blue food color to put into the washer bottle so it looks like the normal stuff and will pass a visual check

Yep that's it and a good price at that. Most I've seen are $100

I've been driving trucks for over 20 years, and I can't figure this one out, either. Must have something to do with the rays coming out of our eyeballs when we look at something, huh?

Keep the windshield cold, the heat low and blowing on the floor and keep the drivers side window down a bit.

I reached out my window to bang the ice off of my windsheild wiper and I ended up bringing the blade back in the cab with me. It fell off, thankfully I grabbed it. It was one of those "oh for ##!?sakes"moments.
