There's only 20 of us and all of us are having a hard time with not having the proper setup to keep our trucks clean. Anything wrong with having a sense of pride?
kylefitzy Thanks this. -
Not at all. Typically, that's a good thing.
However, the question becomes how much does one want to spend on their "pride". -
Thank you for the constructive input, it's appreciated. If we all put in $20-$50 we could get a purification system. However, I don't know how they would hold up with that kind of commercial use and what maintenance would be like. I washed my truck at 4 am again to prevent that crap from drying in the sun. -
Look around for a pool supply house near you. best bet would be one that supplies products to hotels and schools. you might be able to find a used filter set up for cheap. A little work and making a few connection conversions, you could have a system up pretty quick. better than nothing.

The way I see it, if a company doesn't want to fork out the coin to keep the trucks clean, they obviously don't care so why should you? Use the subpar equipment they provide you and let them worry about the company's image.

Well, as a practical matter dirty trucks to tend to get targetted for inspections.

And to add to NorthernMechanic's post...
If you have pride in your truck, but the company does not, you can always find a company that does take pride in their equipment.
Now that said, have you talked to the owner/manager/person in charge about it? Since they don't mind paying to wash the truck, they simply might not know there is a real issue with the pressure washer. (I'm sure they know driver complain about it, but he might just think they don't want to clean their truck or such.) -
Unfortunately, it's pretty well known at the quarry that the water is bad. This is the holy grail of companies as far as I'm concerned. Only a UPS feeder driver makes slightly more in this area. The benefits are top notch and fully covered for the family. They put the money into the employee, rather the trucks' cleanliness. However, the equipment is fully maintained and things are fixed practically before you write it up. I'm just seeking advice on different soaps, equipment, filters, etc that some have had positive experience with under sub par conditions. I love my company and I cannot stand rolling around in a dirty truck. That's just me. Im the same way with my personal vehicle.
