flightline, with all the custom work you have done yourself on that truck , you could rig up some sort of strap dryer in that drom box. by the way how did the rebuild work out? is it doing good

We leave them on our trailers and when we drop the trailer or park for the night we clean the rails and straps off to help with them freezing in place and together. If all hell fails we have little propane torches to help us out.

Funny you say that since I already purchased a heater blower comb to put in the drom box, just haven't gotten it installed yet.
Rebuild went very well, except spent little more than planned. Budget was 8 grand and spent almost 10K.
Otherwise she is running smoother than ever before.

You can try soaking them in vegetable oil or even grain alcohol, its how we do it on the railway at least

Got my PVC straps out of the barn and used them. I forgot how stiff they can get.

I just work with em. Not that big of a deal. Same thing for tarps. Fold it up as best you can and strap it to the deck. Let the straps and tarps freeze to the deck till you hit warmer weather :D.

I always kept my straps from freezing by avoiding freezing weather.

Just use them. If it gets cold enough , the air gets dry and so do the straps.

Actually, I just unroll them on my deck at night. We park in a heated building.:yes2557:

I always take mine off after every load and put them in the cab if they are wet and its freezing out.
I have taken them in the company break room and put them in a stack on the pick nick table in front of the heater if I'm off a couple days. Was told I was the only one they ever see do that.
But I hate handling and trying to throw frozen straps up and over a load 13 feet in the air.
Has anyone ever tried soaking them in Thompsons water seal ? I've been thinking of trying it for some time

Never bothered with that problem. Either you had straps or you had icicles. The Icicles got beat on the engine block until you had straps again.
