Kelle's (Dick Simon's kid)

Thank the stars for that.....I was afraid you already drank the Kool-Aid.

 

I heard the kids drove stinky into the ground by liking white powder and then got so deep in debt to Jerry Moyes at Swift that Jerry bought them to make sure he got his money back by using Swift and Central Freight from Waco to buy Dick Simon from bankruptcy. Because Dick Simon declares bankruptcy on Friday and that weekend Swift's terminal in Salt Lake City has at least 75 reefer trailers in the yard all painted with Swift's colors dedicated to Walmart, with thermo king mechanics checking out all the reefer units. And yes I saw this with my own eyes..

 

I like how their logo is a skunk holding a pirate flag.

 

somebody came up with that logo at dick simon trucking and I guess they still own that one item, that is how it got the nickname stinky too..

 

Back when Dick Simon had only a few trucks he hired either a friend or a relative to do some paint work on one of his trailers. The person who did the work painted a skunk on it as a joke and it kinda stuck. Or so the story goes....

I hope to go to work for Kelle in the near future, I worked for Dick Simon Trucking in 1999/2000 I wish I had stayed with them longer than what I did, but at the time I had lived so far out out the traffic lanes I couldn't hardly ever get home, but I loved working for the Simon family, their really great people to work for and be to just be around while docked in SLC.

 

Is Dick Simon back in business now? I thought one of those mormon companies bailed his arse out or something like that.

 

No one bailed him out that I know of, but Kelle is Dick Simon's son, their all good people to know, and very good people to work for, I really like the whole family.

 

I saw a Simon truck yesterday with a skunk on it, is he back? I don't think it was a reefer, maybe just dry van.
