I have Never been talked to so rudely by a broker in my years in the industry. I had to deal with Becky, 8 hours of detention!! she didn't give to cents about anything....she acted like I was a pain in her side....well that's funny I did my job, how could I have been a pain in her side? We had to wait another day to unload because we did not get out of this place until midnight...I finally told her that I could never work with her again and she said, "oh really you Are never working for me again!" then she hung the phone up....what a *****!!! I finally called up to management because I was so upset with her attitude...and Frank is who I spoke with, he was polite, he said he would be calling me back to let me know what was going on with the situation....I said he was polite, but I didn't say he sounded like he gave two cent either!! Thanks Kennedy, keep up the good work, we appreciate it! Someone should be regulating these slippery brokers....we are the ones who have the greatest overhead, irs, dot, ifta payment(and that is a short list!), and regulated at every angle and then we have to figure in these scammy brokers and the money the take from us by stretching the truth and just not paying the money we are owed!!

Well then broker the loads yourself and forget about the scammy brokers :biggrin_2556: you might just see things in a different light.
I have hauled freight through KENNEDY and never had any problems.

Yup your right, we do see things in a different light! I'm sure we have hauled for companies you may have had negative things to say and our trips went really good....kind of how it goes different times and places, different people and circumstances....i'm glad your trip went good, I'm not glad that we did our job and got treated the way we did! I am fully aware of things coming up and having to work out curtain situations, things come up all the time, wires get crossed, so on and so forth, It still does not give anyone the right to do business that way and to treat our company the way they did! That is why I'm posting a complaint, thanks!

Flatbed,In my 6 yrs of OTR I have always been a company driver, and although I DO have to deal with brokers,my opinion of them isn"t very high either. My question,WHAT is it like to be one"s own authority & broker loads yourself. I always thought it would cut down on the B.S. PS-I am here to learn

Stating my opinion....I form my opinions from my experiences in this industry, I don't want to tick anyone off or have some offensive comment, when nobody knows Our journey in this industy. Our company has dedicated loads and that is wonderful, just you and your customers, although we still deal with brokers for our backhauls. We even deal with brokers for some outgoing freight at times. There is no way trucking companies can make it using brokers, the money is not there...these companies maybe running good companies, but it doesn't pay the bills that we need to run a truck. You take a load to the south or east you get paid ok, then you are in the south or east they have you at at 1.00/mile( HAVE SEEN IT AS LOW AS 80.) Tell me who's making the money?? Not us tolls, bridges, scales, Ifta, Irp, Ucr, Hvut, Fuel, oil, additives, drivers, loadlocks, flatbed equiptment, reefer fuel and repairs, maintenance bills, parts, taxes and that is not including tires, breakdowns, tow bills, dot inspections(could cut into your pocket book if you don't have the money to maintain your truck or keep currant on your quarterly and annual payments), truck and trailer payments, drug testing and then at 80cents a mile they try to charge us for pallets or lumpers and at that when we have sat for eight to fifteen hours waiting to get unloaded they say well i'll have to talk to my customer to see if you will get paid....We Are Out....so my opinion, you get your authority get dedicated! Our overhead is too much and it will only get worse, more regulations, more rules more fines ect, ect. and more people with a straight ##### face telling you 900miles we can only go 700 for ya...wtf! So This is my first time on a forum.....and that reason is because I just cant stomach some of these companies anymore, for the past year I have seen a graveyard of semis sitting off the side of the road FOR SALE....it's sad, I see how hard we work and our drivers work and i'm sure these drivers of these semis sitting along side the road worked just as hard and slowly buried themselves in debt thinking it will come around. So that is my opinion...good luck to you in any decision you make, I would say do your research on the regulations now and the regulations they are trying to make and make the best educated decision and if you have to use a broker, only use one if you need to. Brokers are a good thing at times, but when you here of these guys making six figures and they overhead on their company is what.....should tell you how much they are putting in their pocket and they get "upset" when you have a maintenance problem and charge you up to 150. for being late for an appointment...something wrong with the picture...good luck!

Bumpyi49 its not all the fantastic lufe that some make it out to be.i

Broker has lots of BS to put up with as well , many thinks its take the $ off the top and thats it , you have exspenses , employees , office , phones , insurance, customers double book loads , slow to pay or do not pay at all , details change , loads cancelled , loads not accepted ecte.

JJTRUCKING as for whining about who makes the $ , if you do not know your operating costs and the $ you need to make a profit then stop trucking.

What does having a maintenance program have to do with being late for an appointment and getting back charged?

First off "Im here to Learn" I'm not whining, I'm telling it how it is, I stated from the beginning that I have worked for good companies...nothing is black and white, there are good companies bad circumstances at times, bad companies that have good circumstances at times, good drivers that have "", bad drivers"", there will always be different experiences with different individuals ...so just maybe you should go get your authority and check it out for yourself and then let me know what you really know....I'm for the trucking industry, we are part of it and work very hard as do so many other companies, I see men and women leave their family for weeks to support their families and not getting to be home to enjoy their company...so I would like you to tell all the companies that didn't make it that they need to assess their #### because i'm pretty sure they are going to tell you they will assess yours....so when someone start a business of their own and puts it all out there just to get nickle and dimed at times knowing what their costs are it might just piss some people off...so don't you sit here and tell me the cost and assessment of anything until you have ran a company, especially a trucking company! I see a lot of heart with truckers and i'm sure they kept going thinking it would turn around and it just didn't, so you really should get a grip on reality and speak from experience not just to run at the mouth....as far as the back charge on any maintenance issue, I'm saying that breakdowns happen, will always happen no matter if you are a big company or a small one, there is absolutely no way to avoid that....same with weather conditions and to be back charge for something that is out of a persons control is total bs! I'm definitely not complaining about the money we make, I originally stated a complaint about a company that treated us like #### when we were 110% not at fault and touched on their affect on trucking companies financially....you know why because we are regulated to the max and these companies are getting away with it....so you can sit there getting a paycheck every week thinking you have no worries...guess what, the overhead is huge on a trucking company, so hopefully yours does not run into situations that screw them in their pocket book, because you'll be sitting in your semi with no where to go and no money on your card to get home...it happens to the big and the small...... Seems you know the cost of running a brokerage firm maybe you should do that...thanks

:biggrin_2559: Boy oh boy you sure like to make very little sense in your long 1 sentence posts. Your spouting off to me about the pros / cons of running trucks , GEE only been running my own for 26+ years after doing the driver thing.

And yes I know the cost of running my operation both the trucking side and the brokerage side.

So im curious are you a broker?, that would explain a lot....I would have stopped replying long ago, because with some brokers it a waste of good air! I thought it was funny that a trucker would keep coming back at me for making a statement about how we were treated so rudely for doing OUR job and we had no fault in the matter at hand...just got there to do our job! I NEVER said all brokers are bad, I don't think that at all, they serve a very important roll in the industry....i'm specifically making a statement about the ones who I feel hurt the companies out there, so you can try and make it seem like you know so much Mr. Intelligence, but I have stated many times that it's not all brokers and even good ones have something go wrong as do truckers when their truck takes a #### down the road, no fun for anybody involved so I don't know what you are really trying to do but it's really irritating....hmmm, maybe you are totally turned on by kennedy, idk? but that was not my experience, even if I wanted to say in their defense...I couldn't, say a d### thing because they shouldn't have been so ridiculous, That woman even faxed me over a paper saying...never call me again....what an idiot! Then she told me that I called her too many times and it was late....well I have gotten woke up at all hours of the night and get up so our drivers are not sitting there with no help in their situation....So Idk what you deal is but i've gotten this feeling before, you know like the feeling that you just keep going in circles, getting nowhere with someone....and getting the finger pointed at you when you are not at fault....hmmm, hey do you work for Kennedy, is that where what im feeling??? I don't mean to be a smart### but I simply was stating my feeling on a company that treated us badly and you have totally turned this into something that you want to argue about....so thanks for the entertainment and you have a good one slippery....thanks! ps, this is an outlet to get our opinions out there, when we sometimes we feel like the wall we have been talking to while at work will not help get our opinions out there....so to all you good brokers keep up the good work, We DO appreciate it....

Your not worth the time or effort in discussing anything with so you are on IGNORE.

You have your 1 sided mind made up and you will likely never change your attitude or your ideas.

Good luck in making it , but really try and stop the LONGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG one sentence postings.
