My money is on he does it himself. Parts are usually half or less of the cost of an inframe, youre paying more for the guy who knows how to do it and has the tools
The guy who rebuilt his isx15 on YouTube had a 16,000 bill for parts. Pro rebuild is much more than an APU.
Abyliks probably doesnt have a newer peice of junk. When i had my 3406e inframed with new turbo and 4 year/400k warranty by a cat shop, the total bill was 24k I had a guy that quoted me on 14k for the same less warranty and turbo, in retrospect i should have gone with that but at the time i needed the warranty because if it had failed id have gone under
Honestly, I don't have a clue (which means I'm even with the dealership on this one... ) Driver picked it up from the dealer and it's been running for about two years since it happened.
Before I ended up getting a truck that had one the quotes are running in the 10,000 range this past Christmas.
I was going to get an older truck myself. When I found out I could get over 8 MPGs on a new aero truck, I couldn't see myself driving a 5 Mile per gallon brick.
My 6 mpg brick does fine for me, but if you want to boil everything down to just better mpg, i wont stop you as long as you dont try to tell me i shouldnt be allowed to drive what i feel like driving
Someone needs to drive a sexy old truck. I'm here to make money, and would drive a 80' dildo if it paid an extra $200 a week.
