I'll say ... I run for Swift and with a $565 truck payment, I'll pull just over $1800 to the truck on 3100 miles.

Just curious... How come you didn't have that governed speed disabled? I almost bought one from kw dealer in Houston, but they wouldn't fix anything on truck. So glad I didn't,but man it was a beautiful truck.

So to get this strait, you made a gross of $4378
    for going 3100 mi.
    $1.41 per mi.
Your loads are your real problem.

    Then you stated $4378 gross
    take away $2500 fuel
    $1878 net after fuel
    divided by 3100 miles driven
    60 cents per mile income.

You can make that as a company driver, with no risk.

Loads notwithstanding, an ISX governed down and still getting only 4.something mpg is a big problem. I'd get it thoroughly checked out...something isn't right. I didn't see anyone else ask, but what are you running for cruise rpm?

None of that info is correct.

The 387 I drive for my boss gets 5.2 at best with a worst of 3.5 after the dealer "fixed it". Last time I fueled the truck was at 4.6 mpgs.

Engine misses and is down on power, but not a single dealer can tell us what is wrong with it. They all say the engine runs fine.

I don't know how he doesn't go nuts paying that much for fuel on each load. Truck needs to be fixed or sold.

    cetanediesel Thanks this.

How did you figure out the 815.02 gallons? The only way to get a exact number for a particular trip is to be full at the start and full at the end, any other way is just guessing, especially on a truck you just got. How much did you idle?

We never say "never idle". You have to if you don't have a way to stay warm or cool.

    There is your problem.

Open it up so you can run and it won't have to work as hard.
