It's automatic....if that's what you're asking

My guess would be Eaton Automated product by the description. If the issue has progressively gotten worse I would start with making sure the clutch has been thoroughly lubricated with the approved grease and have a clutch adjustment performed. Make sure when you have the clutch greased they are dropping the cover and making sure the grease goes through the throughout bearing. Dry throughout bearing is the most common cause of harsh or lack of engagement. If it has always acted this way or continues to act up then have someone that knows the trans look into adjusting/tailoring the trans settings to make it more suit your application or needs. How is the forward engagement at take off? If its an Allison Auto you are talking a whole different animal.

Mine does the exact same thing. I've been told it's a problem with many automatics. I've also been told it's fixable via change in a computer setting. Don't know if that's true. I usually just cuss a lot when it happens.

If it's a Paccar, it's an Eaton auto. By far the worst auto out there. And yes, that's pretty much how they function in reverse. All or nothing. I've found that a left foot braking helps a lot
But you're still going to hit that kingpin HARD sometimes.Oxbow Thanks this. -
